Karen Sergey

Karen Sergey has been involved in the horse industry for over thirty years.  She competed as a junior in the Midwest on the A-circuit in both hunter and equitation classes.  Karen graduated with honors from Morven Park International Equestrian Institute in Leesburg, Virginia. Upon graduation she stayed on at the school and taught three graduating classes. During those years she also competed successfully on numerous mounts in dressage and combined training.  After leaving Morven dressage became Karen’s primary focus and love. In her pursuit of dressage she has studied both here and abroad under the late Bengt Ljungquist, Gabor Foltenyi, Major Hector Carmona, Egon Von Neindorff, Yvonne Malmstrom and Sue Blinks. Karen has trained and competed dozens of horses from Training Level through Prix St. George. Her students have been successful in the show ring with several achieving their USDF Bronze Medal and two competing in the Young Rider’s Championships.  In this season of her life she most enjoys teaching riders of all levels the intricacies of dressage and training lower level dressage horses.
